George Bush in Pennsylvania a few minutes ago: "I don't think you can be pro small business and pro trial lawyers, you gotta pick. And I'm pro small business."
I don't care if you are out to discredit your opponent's charismatic new running mate, this kind of rhetoric is overbroad and dangerous, particularly coming from the President. Trial lawyers fight off all those lawsuits too. And many of "those lawsuits" are necessary to right legitimate wrongs.
Your right to vote for your preferred federal judicial superhottie, that is. Time's a wastin', voting closes July 14. While a Kozinski landslide seems all but inevitable, the women's race promises to come right down to the wire. (Judge AK had better keep an eye on the formidable competition he'll face in future such standoffs from my soon to be former colleague George.) Oh say does that star spangled black robe yet wave...
